Desk Settings and Accessories for Increased Productivity – Famous Desks from Around the World

When it comes to productivity, no one is better to show us exactly what to look for than some of the most famous and successful CEOs and business entrepreneurs in the world.

The founder of BP Capital and TBP Investments, T. Boone Pickens, is a successful businessman who has had the very same desk since he started his ventures in the 1980s. Pickens has a large, wooden executive desk that’s quite traditional in appearance and adorned with papers, notebooks and writing utensils. According to him, that desk has been the scene of transactions worth billions of dollars.

In contrast with T. Boone Pickens, Jeff Jordan, a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz has reached outstanding success with an office that looks more like the study room of a particularly neat teenager. The desk is minimalist, and only features a computer and some colorful decorations and items, which fit in very well with the high contrast colors of Jordan’s office furniture.

Herb Greenberg at CNBC has one of the most uncommon workstations in his line of work. His sleek, semicircle-shaped desk holds multiple computer screens, lots of important papers and several drawers undoubtedly housing Greenberg’s most essential work items. What’s more surprising is that the large desk is in the middle of a busy newsroom, where the atmosphere can be hectic at best.

Arianna Huffington, the editor-in-chief at Huffington Post has a relatively small desk, beautifully adorned and fit for a writer with an ergonomic mesh office chair for comfort. The desk has lots of books, notebooks, a reading lamp and various photographs, and is set opposite to a couple of large shelves of books and a general setting reminiscent of a cozy reading room.
